About Us

The Faith and Imagination Institute (formerly The Center for the Study of Christian Values in Literature) was founded in 1980. The Institute was established to provide a variety of forums—such as symposia, lectures, writing contests, and publications—to help promote conversation among those who share common interest in exploring relationships between literature and faith.  The Institute publishes Literature and Belief, sponsors the David O. McKay essay contest, the Faith and Imagination podcast, and hosts the semi-annual Faith and Imagination lecture in the College of Humanities at BYU.
